West Sussex County Council Elections 2025
After 28 years of Conservative control of our County Council - it is time for CHANGE. It is time our County Council reflected locals’ demands
Elections for West Sussex County Council will take place on May 1st, 2025. Your County Council is responsible for education, transport, some aspects of planning, fire and public safety, social care, libraries, waste disposal and trading standards across the whole of West Sussex. 77% of the council tax you pay in the Chichester District goes directly to West Sussex County Council. The Conservative-led Council has failed residents on so many of these vital services over the years. It is time you had County Councillors that fought for better services in our area.
The Liberal Democrats 3 Point Plan
Fix our local NHS
Fighting for better NHS services in our county. Lib Dems are pushing for Social Care overhaul (run by WSCC). By discharging people faster to community/care homes , our local hospitals can admit more patients
Fix our local environment
Crumbling roads and pavements across the county are unacceptable. Personal accidents and damage to property are all too common. Patch repairs are inadequate. Lib Dems want these issues to be truly fixed.
Fix our local infrastructure
Fighting for infrastructure provision to match housing-led demand. Huge numbers of new homes have been built in our area – but roads, schools, SEND places, GP surgeries, adult care and social care provision have not kept up.
It is time for change. The only way to shake-up the way County Hall has been led is to vote for the Lib Dems here
Liberal Democrats are standing across our area
There are 10 County Council Divisions in the Chichester area. Local, dedicated, community focused Liberal Democrats will be standing. You can learn more about each of the candidates by selecting your Division from the menu at the top left of this page.
