Second Chance Chichester is proud to make houses into homes
Second Chance Chichester, an upcycling charity that refurbishes and repurposes second hand furniture for people in need, showed Chichester Liberal Democrat MP, Jess Brown-Fuller, how it collects and restores furniture for every room in a home.
Jess met with founder Richard Plowman, and several of the volunteers who support the charity by ‘upcycling’ donated items. Second Chance collects good quality furniture, furnishings and white goods that are no longer needed from offices and residences and give them a second chance in new homes with people in need of them.
Although most of the donated furniture is in excellent condition, Chichester Crafters work with Second Chance to restore and repurpose items which are then made available for people on a low income.
The charity supports individuals and families referred to the charity and viewings are made by appointment only.
“This is a wonderful new charity that helps people in need within our community as well as upcycling furniture and giving it a new purpose, reducing our landfills,” said Jess.
