Register to vote and get a say in running the country! And make sure that your friends and relatives do too.
It takes 5 minutes. Just click gov.uk/register-to-vote. You will need your National Insurance number (eg from tax form or payslip).
From 4 May 2023, voters in England will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in some elections. See https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/voter-id for more details.
If you can't vote personally, you can apply to vote by post or by proxy (someone you trust voting on your behalf). Note: you might not receive your postal vote until one or two weeks before polling day.
If you need someone to be your proxy voter, we may be able to help, please contact us!
If you're an overseas voter, you may need to take extra steps: electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/voter/overseas-voters.
The council's Electoral Services team provide more details at chichester.gov.uk/elections
Remind all your friends - no vote, no say!
